I did a lot of things in my free time as a kid, but only when I had time because both of my parents were always busy with the farm and my 4 other siblings and I. We would always ride bikes up and down the driveway and I would listen to Bruce Springsteen on my battery-operated radio and jump on the trampoline.
My family and I always had many animals growing up on the farm. We had pigs, farm cats, a dog, 2 horses, and chickens. We also had to do a bunch of daily chores and other chores for those animals. My siblings and I, always helped our parents with daily chores and taking care of the animals.
School was very different than it is today, especially technology. We didn't have laptops like we have today, instead we had big bulky computers that stayed in the computer lab at school. Recess games were also very different. We played games like red rover, tether ball, and kickball.
Since we had many animals, there were many chores to do everyday. We would always have to help my parents with cleaning out the pig crates, butchering chickens, feeding and watering the chickens and pigs, and picking up sticks around the yard.
Some popular clothing at my time may seem funny to different generations. For example, there were Nylon wind suit pants with a matching jacket that whenever you would walk or move in them, they would make a swish-swish sound. There were also Doc Marten shoes that I had always wanted a pair of.
In conclusion, back in my day, it might seem weird what this generation does today. Whether it is what you do in your free time to the style of clothing.
