Hello! I am Carolus Linnaeus, I am a taxonomist, zoologist, physician and botanist. I am also known as the "father of modern taxonomy.
I am well-known for creating the binomial system which is widely used in today's world. This system allows all animals and plants to be given a genus name which is proceeded by a name in Latin.
I formalized binomial nomenclature in one of my works called Systema Naturae, with its' first version released in 1735. It introduces the Linnaean taxonomy for the categorization of organisms.
Since I was unable to draw good botanical illustrations, I was inspired to create useful systems for naming and classifying them.
With this system, I was able to name over 12,000 species of plants and animals.
Carl Linnaeus' efforts in the world of taxonomy greatly contributed to the evolution of our world, feeding us with new knowledge day by day.
Even after my passing, my systems are being used all around the globe in order to classify and organize new kinds of life in our ever-changing world.
