Storyboard Text
- The Capulets and Montagues have feuded since forever. Two servants from each family encounter each other and a fight breaks out in the street. Benvolio, a Montague, tries to break up the fight.
- Romeo, a Montague, is sad because he got rejected by Rosalind, a noble woman who wishes not to marry. Benvolio comforts Romeo and convinces him to join him in a party.
- In the Capulet household, Juliet, the first daughter of the Capulets, learns a suitor, Count Paris, has caught an interest in her hand.
- At the party, Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first glance, Juliet is swooped off her feet by Romeo. They share a dance, and a kiss.
- The Sharks and the Jets have been feuding ever since the Sharks moved in town. One member from each gang start fighting, Bernando from the sharks and Riff from the jets. The police see this fight and decide to break it up.
- Riff asks Tony to go to he party, so he can help with confrontation against the Sharks. Tony refuses at first because he says that he will not be participating in any more gang activities. Riff then tries to convince him to go and it works.
- Maria, a puertorican Shark wants to go to the party so she goes to Anita for help with her dress. She loves the dress and they both attend.
- Tony and Maria meet each other at the party and instantly fall in love, they are about to kiss but they are pulled apart by Bernardo. This event further complicates the feud between the Jets and the Sharks.
