  • The Europeans start to arrive.
  • Before the trade began, the people who travelled a long way would rest for a little bit. Then, the First Nations would establish some feelings of respect and trust with their guests by exchanging gifts and sharing the peace pipe.
  • The First Nations valued metal goods that came from Europe, such as guns. The First Nations also traded other goods such as blankets. Also, the Europeans valued furs from the First Nations.
  • The First Nations are hunting for sea otter furs.
  • The First Nation are trading furs for metal goods with the Europeans.
  • The Europeans start bringing the furs back to Europe and this fur trade continued.
