Hal beats him brutally, while a man from the side sees it all go down. This guy is John Thornton, and as he watches he relizes Hul is not stopping and looks as if he has the intentions of killing buck. Thornton threatens Hal with death if he doesn’t stop beating Buck. Buck licks Thornton’s hand, and goes with him.
  • Conclusion....Resolution
  • buck is the happiest then her has ever been even happier then  sunny California. Buck loves Thornton he can hardly let him out of his sight but hes afraid something will happen causing him to leave buck.
  • Buck is getting harsh vibes, but like the book says "You can take the dog out of the wild but you can’t take the wild out of the dog." Thornton gets in the middle of a bar fight and Buck gets viciously protective. Buck saves Thornton from a near-drowning. And after buck pulls a 1000 pounds so everyone is throwing money in Thornton face but he doesn't except and pulls through with keeping buck.
  • Buck makes friends with a wolf and almost takes off for the wild, but remembers Thornton and returns to camp, where he is smothered with affection. He kills a bear forgetting how fun it was to kill something.  Buck starts acting more of a wolf then a dog. Buck returns to camp to find that Thornton and his men have been killed by natives of the Yeehat tribe. He retaliates and the natives flee, calling Buck an "Evil Spirit." Now that Thornton's gone, Buck is on his own again, and he can finally give in to this call of the wild. He becomes the leader of a wolf pack.
