Who are you talking to on that radio? You must be an alien!
HE'S THE ALIEN!
I'm serious! I don't know how it happened!
It was a calm day on Maple Street and everyone was having a great time talking to each other. All of a sudden, there was a loud noise, and a flash of bright light. Everyone´s electronics stopped working, and the people are concerned. A man named Pete Van Horn sets off to check if the next street has power.
YOU KILLED HIM!
Two of the men, Steve and Charlie, were going to leave and see why there was no power. One of the boys, Tommy, stood up and said that aliens didn't want them to leave. He claimed that some of the residents were aliens. At first, he wasn't taken seriously, but after a while the people started to believe him.
Les Goodman tries to start his car. It doesn't work, but as soon as he gets out, it revs up. Everyone starts accusing him of being an alien, and is conspiring against him. Later, Steve is accused of being an alien because he works on a Ham radio set.
Is the patttern always the same?
Yes, with few variations. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find...and it's themselves
The residents are still suspicious of each other. In the dark, they see a shadowed figure walking towards them. Out of fear, Charlie shoots the man dead. When they go over there, it turns out that it was Pete Van Horn.
I, I, I didn't mean to kill Pete!!!
IT'S PETE VAN HORN!
Charlie's house lights randomly come on, and everyone suspects that the alien is him. Then, Charlie announces that Tommy is the alien. More lights of various houses come on, and the people start screaming at each other. Guns are being shot, fists are flying, and the people accuse everyone of being aliens.
As the neighborhood is torn apart, we find that there are two aliens in the sky, who have orchestrated the whole ordeal. They have done this to many other neighborhoods, and plan to do it to more. They realize that the cycle is the same every time. The people let their fear rather than their logic take over.
