  • The third estate forms the national assembly and states the tennis court oath in which they won't give up until a new constitution is put in place.

  • While the constitution was being finished, the king and his family fled Paris but were halted at Varennes 
  • While detained, the king was forced to accept the constitution of 1791. This changed the king's title and he now got power from the people and law as opposed to a divine right.
