The Articles of Confederation was a document created to establish a central way of government in America. The States had most of the power, while the National Covernment had very little.
Shays's Rebellion highlighted the major weakness of the Articles of Confederation by showing that a change needed to be made to form a more just government. It showed that the states had too much power, while the Federal government had too little, causing the states to be more divided and have more complications.
After Shays's Rebellion, more Americans began to realize that it was time for a change. They decided they needed better protection and called out for a new central government. Also needing a new leading document, the U.S. Constitution was born.
