  • The Articles of Confederation was a document created to establish a central way of government in America.  The States had most of the power, while the National Covernment had very little.
  • Shays's Rebellion highlighted the major weakness of the Articles of Confederation by showing that a change needed to be made to form a more just government.  It showed that the states had too much power, while the Federal government had too little, causing the states to be more divided and have more complications.
  • After Shays's Rebellion, more Americans began to realize that it was time for a change.  They decided they needed better protection and called out for a new central government.  Also needing a new leading document, the U.S. Constitution was born.
