- On page 60 in this scene shows that to Kao she heard her teacher talking about where was she from during the war and when she heard about, it got her and say this there were no it Mong-as if hadn't existed at all in America eyes.

- On page 63 it explains that when she got home,she some how got sick and later on her stomach cramped and I could no longer eat.
- In page 65 when her grandma went to Kao's room she gave her a bracelet as a gift and tell her to wear the bracelet every day.
- Thank you grandma for the gift
- In page 66 when she went downstairs her parents were asking her about how she was feeling when she wore the bracelet and say I felt better when I wore the bracelet.
