Setting is the time and place of the action. At night in the old mans' room, 1800's. "And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it," Pg.90
Point of view is the perspective the story is being told from. The Point of view is first person because in the tell-tale heart it states I, he, and they. "I went boldly into the chamber, and spoke courageously to him calling him by name in a hearty tone,"
Conflict is the problem in a story. Getting rid of the old mans' "evil eye". "I made up my mind to take the life of the old man, thus rid myself of the eye forever"
Theme is a lesson that can be learned in the story. One theme is to don't do things that you will regret. "villans" I shrieked, "dissemble no more! I admit the deed!"
Symbolism is symbols that represents something. The eye is a symbol for the old mans eye. "He had an eye of a vulture-a pale blue eye, with film over it."
Suspense is something that makes someone anxious and also makes someone want to see what happens next. "A shriek had been heard by a neighbor during the night: suspicion of foul play had been aroused; information had been lodged at the police office"
