  • Why should we pay for our sugar and have higher taxes
  • The french and Indian war was a fight between the British and the French, the Indians were helping with the French. The French eventually lost and led to the Proclamation of 1763
  • Stamp Act
  • The Proclamation of 1763 was made after the French and Indian war, this was when the declared the French to give up their land to North America and the British gained everything east of the Ohio River and Spain gained west of the Ohio River.
  • Quartering Act
  • The sugar act was a high taxed like sugar was very popular and people were always trading it like tea as well.
  • The Sons Of Liberty
  • American colonies had to pay taxes to protect themselves, the colonists did not like the amount they had to pay. The taxes for the Stamp Act had to be paid for with British money. They would not take colonial paper money
  • Since the war had left Britain with a large national debt, it also was especially important that the colonies should pay their share of the costs of keeping these men in America. Colonies had to pay for the soldiers to be there. They colonies would stay in the people homes
  • The Son of Liberty was a response to the stamp act. The first group formed was most likely formed out of the “Loyal Nine”. It started in Boston, then other groups started forming in New York and in Connecticut.
