The Tiber river had gave them water to drink and it also Connected Rome to the Mediterranean Sea. Rome is located in Italy and the Romans built a coliseumthat still stands in Italy.

Romulus and Remus were twin brothers who were the kings sons. Someone was sent to have the baby's drown in the river. They put them both in a cradle and set them in the water but it didn't flip over so they stayed alive. A wolf came by and took the kids from the cradle and took them to her cave. One day they were caught playing on a path and were followed back to there cave the man that found them took them and raised them then they got back to there parents.
Influence of Greek Architecture
They used these types of engineering for architecture. They used archways on big buildings like the Coliseum had many arch ways. Also they used cuniculus witch is like a water channel they used that as well.

Rome got there ideas of sports from the Greeks because the Greeks took a big part of there religion so they followed there culture. The sports had a big influence on the Roman culture.

Greeks influenced the architecture as well but the Romans were already great builders and could build there own homes. They did not always build homes though they also would build temples and things like that.
The Romans got part of there religion from the Greeks and started to do similar works of art. They would make them out of different materials depending on what the art was used for. They could also use these skills to build bricks for there walls.
