A Humbled old man sleeping on his bed at night. "He was sitting up in the bed listening-just as I have, night after night, hearkening to the death watches."
The point of view is by the man who is creeping up on the old man at night to try to kill him. "Every night, just at twelve, i looked in upon him while he slept."
The reason he wanted to kill him was the unique color of his eyes, and that is what started conflict. "He had the eye of a vulture- a pale blue eye, with a film over it."
i think the theme is the subject of talk and in this story think it is how angry and mortified this guy is, because he killed a man just because of his eye."He had the eye of a vulture- a pale blue eye, with a film over it."
I think the symbolism and the thing that really summarizes the whole story is the old mans eye. "had to kill him because of his eye."
.I think the suspense really rose up when the the man saw the old man open his eyes for the first time. You could feel the suspense of what was about to occur. " The old man opened his eyes, as he was checking if anyone as he had the feeling of someone present."
