It was a sunny day in Mrs. Smith's classroom. All the students were working hard. Thomas suddenly raised his hand and said "Mrs. Smith, I'm not feeling well!" Looking concerned, she sent him to the nurses office.

"Hello Thomas, what seems to be the matter?" Dr Jeffery said. "I don't feel to well" Thomas responded. Dr. Jeffery took Thomas' blood pressure and checked his temperature. Thomas was scared.
"Oh Thomas, I think you have chicken pox!" Thomas was speechless! Dr. Jeffery told Thomas he needs medicine right away. He looked concerned for Thomas.
THE NEXT DAY...
Thomas walked into school that morning feeling sad. He felt different from his friends. He hoped to feel better soon. Thomas was discouraged.
Thomas was being made fun of. His classmate Sally laughed at him. The whole class joined in. "Thomas has cooties!" They all chanted.

Thomas runs to the washroom. He wonders why people treat him this way! They definitely wouldn't like being made fun of. Today is a sad day for Thomas.
