Esperanza Rising Story Board Project
This storyboard does not have a description.
There was a family in Mexico who had everything they wanted. The daughter's name was Esperanza, and her parents owned the largest farm and company in all of Mexico. Esperanza's grandmother, Abuelita, has lived with them for many years. They had servants named Hornesta, Alfonso, and their son, Miguel.
One day, Esperanza's father went into the city, but never came back. Alfonso and Miguel went to search for him and returned with his lifeless body. The father’s property passed to Esperanza's uncles: Tio Luis, the mayor, and Tio Marco. Tio Luis tried to marry her mother, but she refused.
Furious, Tio Luis burned down the house and told her mother that if she would marry him, he would build a bigger house, and would send Esperanza to finishing school. While the mother agreed, it was a trick; Esperanza, her mother, Hornesta, Alfonso, and Miguel fled to Los Angeles.
When they arrived, they were greeted by Alfonso's family. Everyone went to work. Esperanza worked in the house, while Hornesta and Esperanza's mother worked in the fields and Miguel and Alfonso worked at the railroad.
One day, Hornesta, Esperanza, and her mother went to the train station and saw Miguel helping Abuelita down the steps. Everyone was so excited. Abuelita told them how Tio Luis reacted to their leaving and how no one would tell him anything. Everyone celebrated with a feast Hornesta prepared.
