Four nobles led the first crusade. 30,000 crusaders fought their way through Anatolia, Palestine, and Jerusalem. In 1098 the crusaders laid a siege to the city of Antioch, then after months they got in. Antioch fell to the Christians, and the crusades were victorious.
During the second crusade the Muslims started to band together. In 1144, they captured Edessa. The Christians responded by releasing another crusade. An army of 50,000 people marched to Damascus, but the muslims came to aid and beat the crusades.
We are going to destroy them now that we are together.
The Muslims came together under one ruler, Sal al-Din. He created the largest Muslim empire. It united Egypt, Syria, and land in the East. He also took back most of Palestine. When they captured Jerusalem the Europeans were shocked. This led to the third crusade. In 1191 Richard's army forced Palestine to surrender. He also fought his way through Jerusalem, but his army was not strong enough. Thus leading to a peace treaty with the two leaders.
King Richard I of England was the one who led the fight against Sal al-Din. He forced a surrender on Palestinian city of Acre. He also fought his way through Jerusalem, but unfortunatly his army was not strong enough to attack the city, leading to a peace treaty between the two leaders,
All hail King Richard I of England.
We shall lead the later crusades.
The crusades were still continued in The Middle East, they were organized by the poor and made the children crusades which was a total failure.
