Storyboard Text

  • Ruling means correcting!!!!
  • Everyone must respect their elders..... I'll do that and call it Filial Piety!
  • Confucius turned his home into a school, not for money, but out of a thirst for knowledge. Many students came to his school and Confucius was an excellent teacher.
  • Do not worry! All of you are just a work in progress to achieve social harmony!!
  • Confucius begins to see things that frustrated him in how the government was working, so he quit his position and embarked on a 13 year long journey.
  • "Do unto others as you would have done to yourself."
  • He got to thinking and developed a new way of thinking and a set of rules on how to properly behave that eventually grew into a religion.
  • Ren
  • Li
  • Confucius always saw everyone as a work in progress. He thought that they could change if they wanted to and achieve social harmony if they just put their mind to it.
  • Confucius had a famous, golden rule: "Do unto others as you would have done to yourself." This is very similar to our golden rule today, "Treat others the was you would like to be treated."
  • That's really smart!!!
  • He also developed the concept of Ren and Li. The idea Ren means to have concern for others while Li means to always demonstrate appropriate behavior.
