  • Great Britain kidnapped American soilders and sailors to serve them in their military.
  • War Hawks Beliefs
  • The United States banned all nations from trading. However, Great Britain did not agree to the Embargo Act so they stole goods from the United States constantly.
  • The Annexation of Florida
  • Tecumseh did not believe that the United States should receive more territory. He worked together with the Native Americans and Great Britsain to stop the settlement.
  • Declaring War
  • The War Hawks dwanted to put a stop on British influence among Native Americans.
  • When the United States purchased their newly expanded territory, Great Briatin had power over West Florida. The British had to give up Florida for the United States.
  • President James Madison declared war on Great Britain. He wanted Congress to vote on the war and Congress voted yes and finally declared war.
