Instead of killing the baby the man took him to the childless king and queen of Corinth.
Oedipus got into a conflict on the road and ended up killing that man, but he didn't know that who he killed was King Laius.
Oedipus answered the riddle of the sphinx to save the town.
Oedipus became the new king and married queen Jocasta.
Oedipus figures out he marries his mother and takes out his eyes. His mother queen Jocasta takes her life as well.
