There is a plague ravaging through the city, so the chorus looks to King Oedipus for a solution to their problem.
Creon says the only way to fix the issue is by driving the murderer of King Lauis out of the city, so they ask the prophet for help on figuring out who killed the previous king. The prophet, Tiresias has an interesting answer, calling Oedipus the murderer.
