  • This is Mike. He is 17 years old and wants help the environment by recycling. 
  • Practice
  • Mike goes to his local recycling center to learn more about what can be recycled, what can be composted, and what can be thrown in the trash.

  • A product Mike identified is a recycling bin. A service he identified is Republic Services, a company that collects waste and recycling. This company will help him to separate recycling, waste, and compost, and will teach him more about recycling.
  • Assess & Reflect
  • Did I recycle everything that I could and did I make a difference?
  • He practices recycling, and practices avoiding littering, throwing everything in the trash, and putting products in the wrong bin.
  • Mike asks his mother to help him recycle, and she agrees, as long as he can get a job. (PF: Clear expectations for behavior and values... RF: Poverty)
  • As long as you can get a job and help around the house!
  • By recycling, Mike has helped to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. He asks himself if he has made a difference.
