Paul Kalanithi grew up in Arizona but was born in New York on April 1st 1977. His family wasn't too rich but his mom still cared for his education for all her kids. His brothers went to a school a little far away from his town. One of his childhood memories was when he got home from elementary a snake was on the porch and his brother just picked it up and told him that it was harmless.

He went to Kingman High School when he was 10 and graduated Valedictorian in 1995. His brothers at the time was also doing well in school studying Computer/Robotics and another wanting to be a neurologist.
First Paul went to Stanford where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in English literature, and a Bachelor of Science in human biology in 2000 where he met his future wife Lucy Goddard. After the University of Cambridge when he studied at Darwin College, and graduated with a Master of Arts in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine. Then he attended the Yale School of Medicine, where he graduated in 2007 with a Latin Honors.
After graduating from medical school Paul Kalanithi returned to Stanford to finish his residency training in neurosurgery and a postdoctoral fellowship. through out his years as a doctor he solved and cured many cases during his 7 years working in the Medical field. until he felt severely sick and took a break from the medical field.
He went to New York t visit some friends to take a break from his wife because he was stating he has symptoms of cancer. He didn't feel to great so he traveled back to meet his wife where he went to the doctor and first time they didn't detect it but the 2nd time they did in 2013. No one really believed him until now and everyone felt sorry that doubted him. He had a baby girl named Cady on July 4th 2014.
Paul even though he had cancer continued to help patients even though he was one himself and Finished his college studies in 2014. At this time he started writing his book "When Breath Becomes Air" and many other Writings that were published b the New York times. He died on March 19th 2015 with his loving family by his side and not finishing his book his publishers did. Through out his whole life and his Writing journey he helped and taught many of us with important life lessons and how to enjoy and live life
