the tortoise and the elephant

There was a great king who ruled at a time when animals could still talk. He had grew ill over the time and almost to the point of death. He tried all the medicine from inside the village, but nothing worked so he went t the dreaded herbalist who was in the evil forest.
The herbalist pronounced that he needs to drink a special brew with elephant parts or die in 7 days, so the kings goes back to his kingdom and offers anyone who get him an elephant in less than seven days half of his kingdom and also thy can marry his daughter.
A brave tortoise accepted the quest but made one request in return. That a very deep pit be dug and that the pit should be filled with raffia and mats with a throne for a king to be set on top of the pit. The tortoise made some bean cakes and headed to the village
He wandered for three das until he seen the elephant resting under the tree. He had tricked the elephant into believing that the king was dead with him as the new king. at first he didn't believe it and thought it was a joke, but with some persuasion he listened and went back to the kingdom with the tortoise.
When they got to the kingdom the elephant fell more into the trick when he had seen all the people of the kingdom in rejoice not knowing why they were happy, but assuming is because he was 'their new king'. so when he got into the palace he had sat on the throne with a pit underneath and fell inside and the guards rushed in killing the elephant. When the king got his soup he instantly felt better and gave what the what he ad promised the tortoise.
Moral of the story don't trust someone you just met and don't be so easily persuading because you don't know what the circumstance and hey who knows you might just fall into a pit and be cooked into stew.
