  • In Modern day America, You can worship however you want.
  • But the same can't be said in the 1600s.
  • This is Mary Dyer, she was a Quaker.
  • In 1635, Mary Dyer and her husband William Dyer arrived in Boston, Massachusetts.
  • In 1657, Mary returned to America after going back to England. While in England she became a Quaker.
  • The Only issue was that there was an Anti-Quaker law.
  • Mary Began to protest the Anti-Quaker law. She was arrested and band from the colony several times, but she kept returning.
  • “Nay, I came to keep bloodguiltiness from you, desireing you to repeal the unrighteous and unjust law made against the innocent servants of the Lord. Nay, man, I am not now to repent."
  • On June 1, 1660, Mary Dyer was put to death and hanged for her beliefs.
