  • We hate you!!
  • We will host a grand ball in order to get our daughter married

  • We are introduced to the play with background information on who the Montagues and the Capulets are. We are also told who Romeo and Juliet are and how their interacts with each other drive the plot of the play
  • Mercutio, dead in the background
  • In order to marry their daughter off to a man by the name of Paris, the Capulets decide to host a fancy ball so that Juliet can have the chance to fall in love with Paris.
  • After meeting each other at the Capulet ball, Romeo and Juliet fall in love with each other. They both decide to swear on their love for each other and get married the very next day.
  • After a gruesome sword fight against Tybalt, Mercutio is stabbed and dies. As an act of revenge for his fallen friend (and out of rage), Romeo challenges Tybalt to another sword fight, where he kills him. The Prince then banishes Romeo from Verona.
  • After finding out about Romeo's banishment, Juliet decides to fake her own death. Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a sleep potion that will make her appear dead to others. The Friar then says that he will tell Romeo to come and retrieve Juliet so they can run away together.
  • When Romeo finds out that Juliet is dead, he buys himself a poison so he can die by her side. When Romeo drinks the poison and dies, Juliet wakes up and realizes what has happened. Friar Lawrence tells her to run away, but Juliet refuses and kills herself instead.
