- Odessa is a dry, boring town in the middle of Texas. There is a lot of racism that divides the town. Football is extremely popular and loved among all because it brings the town together. The year is 1987. One claim to fame in this town is how oil-rich it is.
- This is Boobie, the star running back on the Periman (Odessa) football team. He is really good and is hoping to go to the NFL.
- Stop falling over Steve!
- This is Mike Winchell, The quarterback. He was not expected to be great but he's playing very well right now.
- I'll raise oil prices and make this town rich if you vote for me.
- Boobie breaks his ankle and is out for 8 weeks, which is the majority of the season.
- This is the big rivalry game between Periman and Odessa high. Periman wins 52-3 and keeps a streak of 24 wins in a row in this rivalry.
- George H.W. Bush is in town campaigning for the following election against Michael Dukakis. The people of Odessa are persuaded and heavily vote for him.
