Storyboard Text

  • The Enlightenment was an age of intellectual and philosophic reform
  • Without this reform our society wouldn't be the same and some of the enlightenment thinkers would not have introduced their ideas to the world and is important to study because of the way it shaped our society
  • Many great thinkers came from this time and introduced important ideas
  • Such as Hobbes,
  •  people are naturally selfish and evil
  • Locke,
  • Everyone is naturally free and equal
  • Montesquieu
  • I like democracy but i also approve of slavery
  • and Rousseau
  •
  • state of nature were innocent and at their best and that they were corrupted by the unnaturalness of civilization
  • Because of these great thinkers we are more advanced than if these people did not share their ideas. This is important to study because it shows how our society evolved
