Storyboard Text

  • George Washington defeated a small French force, but when the French and their allies counterattacked, conflict started between the French and the British, which the British called the French and Indian War.
  • There were many attacks back and forth between the French and British armies. Some of these attacks included Nova Scotia, which General Braddock lead, and Fort Duquesne, where Washington saved half of his army.
  • aye we won that battle
  • During this time, many French forts such as Quebec and Montreal were captured by the British. This often happened at night.
  • Eventually, the French fled north, and the British won more land. This was part of the Treaty of Paris.
  • Because we defended the colonies and got more land, the colonists should pay some of the debt through taxes.
  • This is unfair!
  • The colonists thought the British taxes were unfair, so they attempted to band together to separate from the British. This was called the Albany Plan of Union.
  • No taxation without representation!
