- In 1492 Columbus , a European explorer ,was looking for a shorter route to Asia. He instead got lost and ended up in the Bahamas.

- Pineda was a Spanish Explorer that was sent on an expedition, in 1519. He explored and maped the gulf of mexico.
- Coronado
- Cortez was an Explorer who was sent from Cuba to mexico, in 1519, to bring slaves back Explore and trade. Instead he built an empire and defeated the aztecs and made spain very rich.
- La salle
- Cabeza de vaca was an explorer, in 1526,whos expedition goal was to colonize north america but got shipwrecked on galveston island. He ended up having really bad luck and barely surviving the expedition.
- Coronado was an explorer in 1540 who went to texas on an expedition to discover gold instead he found the grand canyon , pacific ocean , and explored all the way up to kansas.
- La Salle was a famous french explorer who went to texas on and expedition for fame and riches he got spain interested in Texas , in 1685 , he also discovered Matagorda bay.
