  • I am the first king of Akkad!!!!!
  • Babylonian Empire
  • I am the new ruler and you shall obey my code of laws, because they are the sun god's words!!!!!!!!!
  • Assyrian Empire
  • As the Assyrians we are violent people who want to conquer Mesopotamia.
  •   Sargon of Akkad ruled for 50 years, he formed Agade during his rule. As the first king of Akkad he gave women the ability to have power as well, for example he placed his daughter as the high priestess of the moon god. When Sargon's rule ended the empire eventually grew weak.
  • Neo-Babylonian Empire
  • I am Nebuchadnezzar and I will repair the empire!!!!
  • After the fall of the Akkadians Hammurabi came to rule, Mesopotamia had a code of laws enforced by Hammurabi. In the Babylonian Empire Hammurabi made Babylon the capital, he also made a rule that the code of laws could not be changed. The Babylonian Empire had more rights, even slaves were given some rights.

  • The Assyrians were violent people, they lived in Mesopotamia for a long time. The Assyrians conquered Hammurabi and attacked many other cities. They developed many battle strategies such as, mastering horses and iron weapons in battle, and using a battering ram to break down walls. The empire lasted about 300 years, but then they became weak and vast.

  • The Neo-Babylonian Empire was ruled by Nebuchadnezzar, it lasted 75 years. They were responsible for many achievements such as, creating a sundial, and discovering that there are 60 minutes in a hour and 7 days a week. The empire was extremely skilled in mathematics and astronomy. Lastly the empire was known for being the location of the hanging gardens.
  • Hammurabi ruled Mesopotamia and was know for his code of laws. Hammurabi worked to unite his people and to provide organization. The society was unusually fair for its time. Laws were extreme, and the empire became very powerful. Later on though the empire grew weak and eventually was taken over by the Akkadians. 
  • Hammurabi's code is a code of laws, they are written in cuneiform. The code of laws was written on a 8 foot tall stele, and were very strict. The laws were made 3,768 years ago, and lasted 64 years they were made to reinforce his power. He made them to encourage his people to accept his authority. They stated eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.
