  • He shall be KING!!!!!!!
  • Your son will either grow up to be a King or a religious leader
  • Move! NOW!!!!
  • What has happened to these people. Iv'e never seen anything like this.
  • A prince name Siddhartha was born to the King of Nepal in 563 b.c. A fortune teller predicted that Sidd would one day become either a king or a religious leader. Sidd's father tried to help him become the King just like himself.
  • Now you are one of us
  • I'm never going back
  • Sidd was raised in wealth and luxury. His father wanted to protect him from heat, cold, dust, leaves, and dew when he left the palace. Sidd's father sent guards out to make sure that he wouldn't be able to see poor, sick, or sad people because then he'd want to help them which can lead to religious ideas.
  • I shall meditate by that tree for a while
  • One day, Sidd left the palace without any guards to protect him and he saw things that he had never seen before. The things included, an old man leaning on a stick, a man shrunken by disease, a man who had died, and a holy man. Sidd decided to become like the holy man and search for the truth which meant leaving the palace.
  • Thank you all for coming on this journey with me
  • Sidd searched for the truth about life, suffering, and death. He first joined a group of Hindu gurus and they taught him that life was endless and the goal id salvation. Sidd moved onto anther group of religious ascetics. They taught him to deny all physical comforts ,but he ended moving on.
  • Sidd continued on his search for the truth on his own. One day, he sat under a fig tree to meditate. He told himself to stop meditating once he had found the truth. While meditating, Sidd found the answer to his questions and after 49 days of meditating, he became known as Buddha which means, "the enlightened one."
  • After he was done meditating, Buddha decided to inform others about what he had learned. The next forty-five years after meditating, Buddha traveled across India to answer questions that people asked him. People also questioned what he is, but he replied that he is awake.
