  • Made by Henry Caputo
  • Lets just tax the colonist.  It will be easy.
  • The Quartering Act
  • We need a place to stay. Were moving in boys!! By the way you have to lets us stay at your home.

  • ok I guess I have.
  • The Stamp Act
  • You will have to pay a tax on those papers. That's your first warning, one more and you will be in deep trouble.
  • of course sir.
  •  In the early 1700s  colonist were happy to be a part of Britain. By 1763, Britain's debt  was more then 30 billion dollars, in modern day. This was a large problem so Britain decided to start taxing the colonist to pay for their debt. The colonist did not think was fair so they started protesting.
  • The Boston Massacre
  • The Quartering act was a law where if soldiers needed shelter, food and supplies they could just take it from the colonists. (The British called laws, acts) The British didn't think much of it in fact they thought the colonists should help the soldiers. The colonists did not like this act.
  • The Boston Tea Party
  • The Stamp act said that the colonists would have to pay taxes on printing paper.  The colonists did not like the Stamp act. Once again Britain's leaders and the king were surprised by this. The colonists got very mad so they stopped buying the stamps that showed they paid the tax.  When you wanted to print a piece of paper you would have to show a large blue stamp on the pieces of paper.
  • The Intolerable Acts
  • The Boston massacre started when some colonist were taunting  some soldiers by saying they were rude. One of the soldiers accidentally heard the word "fire" and fired his gun. 5 people died in the Boston massacre while 6 more were wounded. The colonists called this terrible event the Boston massacre.  This happened in 1770.
  • Im dead inside
  • The Boston tea party was an act in which colonist dumped tea into the the Boston  harbor. The colonist did this because they didn't like  the idea of laws being past without their permission. They also did this because Britain was taxing them on there tea. As a result they protested by dumping 90,000 pounds of tea in the Boston harbor. The Parliament (Britain's  government) was mad after the Boston tea party.
  • The British Parliament was so mad after the Boston tea party they decided to pass new acts . These acts were so harsh they ended up leading to many jobs being lost. An example of one of theses acts closed Boston harbor where a lot of business was done. The leaders from 12 of the colonies  gathered in Philadelphia to discuses their problems with Britain. This meeting is known in history as the first Continental Congress.
