  • The oracle tells king Laios and queen Jocasta that their new baby will grow up the kill his father and then he will marry his mother.

  • The king and queen hire a shepherd to kill the baby, but the sheperd took pity on the baby and gave him to a Corinthian shepherd, who gave the baby to his king and queen who couldn't have kids.
