Storyboard Text

  • Jimmy why are you still here?
  • Miss I've been here for hours but i still don't understand what bytes and file sizes are.
  • I'm a substitute teacher for Computer Class, would you like me to help you?
  • First of all you need to know a couple of terms. What is a byte?
  • Good job! and what about file sizes?
  • It is a unit of data that are 8 bits long. It is the standard chunk size fro binary information in modern computers.
  • Yes please.
  • Exactly!
  • Okay well, file sizes are a form of measuring how much data a computer file contains or can contain. For example, a Kilobyte is about 1,000 Bytes and is used for an email.
  • Yes.
  • Oh! Okay I get it so, a Gigabyte is approximately 1 billion Bytes and they're used for USB's. Terabyte is approximately 1 trillion and is used for hard drives. Right?
  • The rest of them are similar?
  • That's what I'm unsure about
  • Emelin Robles
  • Glad I could help Jimmy.
  • Wonder why she was here?
  • Thank you I understand AND I can finally go home!
