Short story details
The daughter knew about the wars because her father wrote wars stories and has been a soldier.(The books on her desk are the war stories)
The daughter later goes on to ask her father a serious question that has been on her mind for a while.
In the middle of the night, he sees a man, who looked like he was in his twenties, from the opposite side walking around in the foggy weather.
He panics in fear for not knowing what to do. His first thought was on killing him, but he felt guilty. Even so he throws one of three grenades lined up in front of him and blowing the man of his feet.
He then lives the rest of his life wondering and feeling guilty about the man. He tries not to think about it, his friends and comrades keep reassuring him and telling him that he would do the same thing if the tables were turned.
