Storyboard Text

  • We need help to make the world a batter place for everyone by reducing coal pollution.
  • I can help you with that if you show me the problem first hand.
  • This is James
  • This is Belle
  • Save the world from Coal!
  • This is a coal mine where we get a enough coal to power our city. This is both a underground and strip mine.
  • As you probably know Although coal is useful as a cheap way of energy. It can be really bad for the environment. As it releases sulfur, carbon dioxide, and other greenhouse gasses.
  • We are now going to a coal mine.
  • This place is filthy how does anyone work here?!
  • Many miners work here. As you can see we are just over the hills near the city! The sulfur released from here can mix with people's drinking water. This can poison people. The air is not spared from the methane.
  • Just as you have mentioned the working conditions are bad and can cause many health problems for miners inside the mines under constant danger. A very common problem is a condition called black lung which can severely advance by staying in mines after diagnosis as more coal dust settles in your lungs making it hard to breathe.
  • What brings you to my office Mr James.
  • We would like to ask some questions. And as the CEO of Coal Inc. we think you can answer them well.
  • We have recently visited one of your near city facilities for coal mining. Along with all the pollution we believe you might be poisoning our water supply .
  • As we all know coal is the dirties of all fossil fuels and is commonly used in developing countries but our developed nation shouldn't be using it as our number 1 energy source. I also feel that we need better safety for the workers.
  • Belle: Here we see one of your plant's disposal area as you can see it is all dirty with remnants of coal everywhere
  • I work for a renewable energy company. With our pictures and my influence I will try to get the mayor to sign off on moving the Coal mine away or closing it down to be replaced with one of our solar farms. Although almost in no states solar power is a major power source we are growing and soon hope to make more energy.
  • Thank you for all your help Mr James .
