- Well now I am in Philadelphia but at the train station all though I saw a lot of black people everybody said they were going to the same place Kensington. To me it seemed all the African Americans were in the same place but since I had no idea where to go I just followed the others.
- So do to the fact that I had 0 dollars to my name I had to get a job and like my freind told me they are easy to find and you can get 3 dollars for just on day. Working was a little rough at first though because I really did not talk to any of the white people who lived in the community(due to the history we had) so I had to learn a lot on my own. Also now I had to relearn "English" because the English I knew according to the Northerners was broken and improper.
- Now I have been in the North for a few months and I can say with no hesitation that coming here was the best decision of my life. In the North I can enjoy my life and do things like go to carnivals, amusement parks, get ice cream, and walk past the white man without having to move off the sidewalk and call them Sir or Mrs. As a black man I never thought I could be happy or enjoy myself but the North has changed that.
