Storyboard Text

  • Desert Tortoises are found here. They survive with each other. They eat the grasses nearby and hang out by the water.
  • Due to it being the hottest year, the water has dried up a bit and the tortoises cannot find much grass to eat. This causes a few to die due to starvation.
  •  Desert Tortoises are prey for true foxes and Gila Monsters. The Gila monsters are venomous lizards. These animals prey on the Desert Tortoises eggs.
  • After most of the tortoises have died due to not being able to adapt to the new environment. Only a couple of tortoises remain.
  • The tortoises were not able to survive and now are extinct. Extinction is the cause of predators and environmental changes that cause the animal to not be able to adapt.
  • Due to the tortoises being extinct, this will affect its' predators, the true fox, and Gila monster. Since it was their food and it no longer exists, they will have to look for other food. If they cannot, they will die. Extinction affects the predators of that animal too.
