  • George Lopez was born on April 23rd, 161 in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, CA to his parents who were of Mestizo Mexican Descent.
  • He was deserted by his father when he was 2 months and then by his mother when he was 10 years old.
  • George was raised by his maternal grandmother, a factory worker, and her second husband, a construction worker, in the Mission Hills neighbourhood of Los Angeles. His father had left when he was an infant, and his mother remarried and relocated when he was 10 years old.
  • In 2000, after several years of performing stand-up comedy, Lopez was approached by actress Sandra Bullock for Lopez to produce and star in a comedy. Bullock was concerned about the lack of Hispanic-oriented sitcoms on American television and pushed to get a sitcom on television that starred Hispanics without being exclusively about the Hispanic American community.
  • His life was admirable because he went through a lot of hate and bullying but still came out to be famous and a very funny guy.
  • In what ways was his life admirable?
  • Was/Is your person a "hero?" Why? Why not? Give at least ONE specific reason why or why not for you person. What do you think it means to be a hero?
  • No, my person is not a hero because he really has not done anything to be a hero but he is a good guy. A hero to me is someone who does something great for the world.
