  • Parable of the Sower
  • On another occasion he began to teach by the sea. A very large crowd gathered around him, and he taught them at length in parables, saying to them

  • Calming of the Storm
  • Quiet! Be still!
  • As the evening drew on, they crossed to the other side. A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, but Jesus was in the stern, asleep
  • Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?
  • "A sower went out to sow. As he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up Other seed fell on rocky ground where it had little soil. It sprang up at once, but when the sun rose, it withered for lack of roots."
  • Healing of the Gerasene Demoniac
  • They came to Gerasenes, where from the tombs a man with an unclean spirit met him. The man had been dwelling in tombs, and no one could restrain him, even with a chain.
  • "Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and chocked it and it produced no grain. And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit. It came up and grew and yielded thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold"
  • The Woman with a Hemorrhage
  • When Jesus had crossed back again, one of the synagogue officials came and pleaded, saying, my daughter is almost dead. Please come heal her. He went off, and a large crowd followed. A woman with a hemorrhage touched his cloak, knowing she would be cured, and the blood flow immediately stopped.
  • The wind ceased and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, "Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?" They were filled with awe and asked one another, "Who then is this whom even the wind and sea obey?"
  • Jairus's Daughter
  • Disregarding the message, Jesus said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid, just have faith." He went in and said to them, "The child is not dead but sleeping." Then he put them all out and entered the room where the child lay.
  • Jesus let the demons enter a heard of swine, who ran into the sea. The swineherds reported the incident to the town, and when the people saw Jesus with the possessed man who now sat calmly at his feet, they were seized with fear and asked Jesus to leave.

  • Legion, for there are many of us
  • What have you to do with me Jesus, Son of God?
  • While he was still speaking, people from the synagogue official's house arrived and said, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?"
  • I did Lord. I knew that if I but touched your clothes, I would be cured.
  • Who has touched my clothes?
  • Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace.
  • The girl arose immediately and walked around, and they were all astonished. He gave strict orders that no one should know this and said that she should be given something to eat.
  • Talitha koum (Little girl, arise!)
