This whole play is inherently racist. However, Act V scene I showed the worst of the white man who manipulates out of greed and selfishness
This whole scene strikes me as racist. Othello, is in a jealous rage and refuses to listen. He is portrayed as animalistic and entirely runaway with passion. He refuses to listen to Desdemona's plea of innocence and cannot think beyond what Iago told him. In other words, he is a white mans puppet.
This scene confirms the Elizabethan stereotype that all black people are meant to be slaves. "O cursed, cursed slave! Whip me, ye devils,"(V.II.283-284)
This ending confirms that Elizabethian's believed that black people would never rise above the status of slaves
