The story takes place in the old man's house. The story starts out with the the narrator explaining about the old man's eye. The narrator also talks about how he checks on the old man every night at midnight.
On the eighth night the narrator was more cautious with opening the door. The old man heard and asked "who's there". The narrator kills the old man seconds later.
Once the narrator kills the old man he cuts the body up and hides them underneath the floor boards. The police come over because the neighbors heard a scream. The narrator places his chair on the floor boards where the old man's corps are.
Again and Again
The narrator hears the old mans heartbeat underneath the floor boards. The heartbeats kept getting louder and louder and louder. The narrator goes insane and confuses to the police that he killed the old man.
The narrator describes the image of the old mans eye. He decribes the way it looks, and gives the reader a good idea on what the eye looks like.
The scene that is again and again is the narrator checking on the old man. The narrator checks on the old for seven nights straight at midnight.
