The Boston Massacre
Since the soldiers protected the Colonists they had to provide food, water, and shelter for the Soldiers. But the colonists did not like the soldiers eating and drinking all that they have worked for. Another reason they did not like it because the soldiers took their jobs.
The Boston Tea Party
Britain had a huge war debt. They expected the Settlers to pay some of that debt, so they taxed anything on paper. This made the Colonists angry.
The Intolerable Acts
1770 the Colonists were still angry at the British because of the Stamp Act and the Quartering Act. The relationships between the British and the Colonists was bad. One night soldiers were at the front of a building and people threw ice at the soldiers then the soldiers fired! Many people were killed.
The Colonists dressed up as Indians and found a boat and broke open tea crates and threw them into the harbor. The colonists did this because the British raised taxes on the tea and said "You can only buy tea from this company." After the Tea Party they lowered the tax of tea.
The British found out that the Colonists were dressed up as Indians. They punished them by closing the Boston Harbor. Many people lost their jobs. The colonists did horrible things to tax collectors and british soldiers.
