Storyboard Text

  • Whiles I threat, he lives. Words to the heat of deeds too cold breath gives.
  • Macbeth is contemplating of what he is about to do. The longer he waits to kill Duncan, the less he wants to do it.
  • Lady Macbeth is thinking to herself that she has drugged the guards good enough, that Macbeth should be murdering Duncan right now so he will not get caught.
  • Do mock their charge with snores. I have drugged their possets, that death and nature do contend about them whether they live or die.
  • Lady Macbeth would have attempted to kill Duncan if he did not look like her father. She is afraid when she hears a noise, thinking the guards are awake and Macbeth has not killed Duncan.
  • Alack, I am afraid they have awaked...I laid their daggers ready; he could not miss 'em. Had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done 't.
  • My husband?
  • Macbeth has informed Lady Macbeth that he has killed Duncan.
  • I have done the deed. Didst thou not hear a noise?
  • Macbeth is feeling guilty about killing Duncan but does not know if he regrets it or not.
  • But wherefore could i not pronounce "Amen"? I had most need of blessing, and "Amen" stuck in my throat"
  • Macbeth is overthinking about what he has done and does not follow through with the rest of the plan. Lady Macbeth has to go through with it herself.
  • They must lie there. Go, carry them and smear the sleepy grooms with blood.
  • I am afraid to think what I have done. Look on 't again I dare not.
