Storyboard Text

  • Exposition:  The narrator is introduced. He wanted the readers to believe that he is sane even though he mentioned wanting to kill the old man because of his "evil eye".
  • Conflict: the narrator lives in the same building as the old man who has a "vulture eye".
  • Rising Action: The narrator went into the old man's room for eight nights, to see the "disturbing eye". Each night he was thinking of getting rid of the eye. 
  • Climax: On the eighth night, the narrator kills the old man, then rips his body apart before hiding it in under the floor boards.
  • Falling Action: Police officers arrive at the building, saying that someone reported screams coming from the building. However, the narrator covered it up by saying he was the one who screamed and that the old man was out of town.
  • Resolution: The narrator admits to killing the old man.
