After months of hard work, Victor finally finishes creating his creature. Once he brings him to life, Victor realizes how ugly he is and runs away. "I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I have finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart," (Shelley 56).
That same night, Victor had nightmares about Elizabeth and his dead mother. Soon after, Victor woke up to the hideous monster smiling in his face. " I embraced her, but as I imprinted the first kiss on her lips, they became livid with the hue of death," (Shelley 57).
In the morning, Victor decided to walk the town of Ingolstadt to clear his mind after his bad dreams. While walking through the town he tried his best to avoid the monster. "My heart palpitated in the sickness of fear, and i hurried on the irregualar steps, not daring to look about me, (Shelley 58)
While Victor was walking through Ingolstadt, he runs into Henry Clerval. Both Henry and victor were very glad and excited to see each other. "It stopped just where I was standing, and on the dooor being opened, I perceived Henry Clerval, who, on seeing me, instantly sprung out,"(Shelley 58)
After thinking about the Monster, Victor suddenly falls ill thinking about the months of work put into the monster and it turning out to be so hideous. He later then visited his college. "I have not allowed myself sufficient rest, as you see," (Shelley 51).
Henry stays with Victor to help nurse him back to health. During Victors healing time, he recieves letter from Elizabeth. "This whole winterr, instead of being spent in study, ass you promised yourself, has been consumed in my sick room,"(Shelley 61)
