  • Some bears in this population have sharper teeth than others. This is called variation
  • Because some bears have sharper teeth it is easier for the bears with sharp teeth to hunt and eat prey.
  • When other bears without sharp teeth it is harder for them to eat their prey because it will be harder for them to chew their prey.
  • The bear with the sharp teeth will be able survive and reproduce due to its gene. The bears without this gene of sharp teeth will die because It's harder to eat for them. 
  • Over time the bears with sharp teeth start becoming a lot more popular in the area and the other bears without sharp teeth become less and less in the area.
