Mama- I'm going out.I want to go off somewhere and be by myself for a while.
Well, I guess from all the happy faces everybody knows.
Well-come in. And please excuse everything. My mother was very upset about my letting anyone come here with the place like this.
Mama is trying to get Walter to talk to Ruth because she knows that Ruth is pregnant and thinking about abortion and wants Walter to stop her. Walter ends up leaving to get some "peace" saying that Mama doesnt know Ruth and that she wont get an abortion.
My name is Karl Lindner
Ruth tells Mama and Benetha about her being pregnant. She slips up though and calls the doctor a she which lets Mama know that she went to see about getting a abortion.
Man, I put my life in your hands . . .Man . . .That money is made out of my fathers flesh...
I'm sorry, Walter . . . I had my life staked on this deal, too . . .
Benetha's friend Asagai visits. When he comes he brings her robes and talks about Africa.
Mr Lindner comes as part of a welcoming committee but ends up telling them that they will buy the house from the Youngers for more than they paid for it. He says that the people may not want them living there after the Youngers refused the offer.
Walter and Bobo break down after finding out that Willy Harris ran away with all of their money. They are both sad because that money was their life.
After Mama finds out that Walter lost Benetha and his money she beats him and begs for strength from god to get through losing the money. They are both sad and no one knows exactly what to do in the moment.
