Storyboard Text

  • The Scarlet Ibis
  • Tone
  • This is mine?
  • word choice
  • Doodle is "not all there"
  • James Hurst
  • Imagery
  • The tone of the story is dark and reminds me of death. Brother shows Doodle his coffin and tells him about how they thought he was going to die.
  • Style
  • The  word choice of the story was outdated.  Words that  are used to describe Doodles disabilities were incorrect in today's society.
  • Theme
  • The imagery used to describe the swamp painted a beautiful picture in my mind.  By using imagery the author made a place  where both boys were happy.
  • The style of the story was mystical. It told of how a bird traveled very far and came to them. It was fictional but connected to the story.
  • The theme of the story is that you should always stick by others because if not bad things might happen. Brother leaves Doodle alone during the storm and Doodle ends up dead.
