"Ah Well, there's only on thing to do. Those guts are perforated in several places. It's hopeless." - Jim HerriotBoth Jim and Triss are discussing whether or not they should put down the cat. Jim thinks it's hopeless while Triss convinces him to keep it alive.
"I can make a bed in this box for him and he'll sleep in our room, Jim." - Helen Herriot Mrs. Herriot decides it would be a good idea for them to keep Oscar. Jim is a little hesitant at first but later agrees with her idea.
"Ah, good. I'm so glad he's come home safely" - Miss Simpson Oscar has left the home for the third time and Miss Simpson made sure he had arrived safely. But Mr. Herriot is still confused on why he keeps leaving.
"Tiger, oh Tiger!" - The Gibbons TwinsThe Gibbons stop by to see if the Herriots have their missing cat. The twins are also excited to see that they have their cat named Tiger.
"Helen had pulled a chair close to the table and was slumped face down against the wood." - Mr. HerriotMr and Mrs. Herriot are both very depressed since the cat that they had grown attached to had went home to his original family. They couldn't help but let out a cry at their table.
"He knows me, he knows me!" - Mrs HerriotMr and Mrs Herriot both come and visit the Gibbons to come say hi to their cat. Mrs Heriot is also excited since Oscar recognized her and jumped on her lap to say hi as well.
